This online feature allows you to sort educational offerings based on a variety of criteria and to create your own personal itinerary. Once you click on an offering and add it to your personal itinerary and save it, you can update and print it as a navigation tool for the conference. In addition, your selection of particular offerings allows ASTD to track interest in the sessions and plan handouts and room size according to interest.

Experience Levels
Level 1: Essential Skills (basic topics for new and entry-level practitioners; topics of general interest)
Level 2: Professional Development (topics directed toward the mid-level practitioner to further develop knowledge/skills required to advance in the profession)
Level 3: Senior Staff/Executive Programming (topics relevant to experienced practitioners who have responsibility for staff, new initiatives, planning, development, and business processes)

Certificate Programs
ASTD Certificate Programs provide practical content presented by expert practitioners and time for skill-building with your peers. Enhance your competitive advantage and advance your professional development. Certificate program fees are in addition to the conference registration fees. Advanced registration is recommended, many certificate programs sell out weeks in advance.

General Sessions
General Sessions are an opportunity for all conference participants to come together and hear from the leaders in the profession. Presenters offer insight and inspiration, current thinking and future trends on a range of topics of interest to participants. General Sessions are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and Wednesday from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m.

As a special feature in Dallas, we have invited three pioneers and prophets of the field of workplace learning and performance to make presentations. This year’s Legends met the following criteria: wide, international name recognition and stature in the field; enduring impact and influence; originality of ideas; a career of sustained currency: work done more than five years ago is currently discussed, applied, and adapted; a substantive body of published work; a contribution that raises the visibility, credibility, and stature of the field.

The View from the CLO series features leading CLOs from various industries and organizations. Each will share from his or her experience leading at the top of the profession. You will hear how they got there and what they’re doing in their organizations that make them so valuable.

Preconference Workshops
Preconference Workshops are offered for an additional fee. One-day workshops are offered on Saturday prior to the start of the conference. These interactive programs are typically more hands-on than the concurrent education sessions and are an ideal way to develop new skills or gain new perspectives, while focusing on a topic in-depth.

Conferences-Within-a-Conference
Conferences-Within-a-Conference provide an intense, focused learning experience in an intimate setting. You’ll be with others who share your interests and you will learn from experts in your chosen area of concentration. There is no additional fee or pre-registration required. You may decide to go to some of the sessions or immerse yourself in the Conference-Within-a-Conference experience and attend all of the sessions offered in a particular area. And of course, you may attend any of the other conference sessions you choose.

The Magic of Stretching
Tired back? Aching feet? Overwhelmed with information and great ideas? Stop by The Stretching Area and rejuvenate with Judy Warner of Aiki Works. During these stretching exercises you will learn a stretching routine you can take back to the office, practice some neck exercises guaranteed to relieve tension, and review some centering techniques to help you get the most out of the conference.

This year we will host four international forums: Asia-Pacific (including Australia/New Zealand), Euro (Eastern and Western Europe), and Ibero (S. America/Portugal/Spain).
